Energetic, creative and Interactive learning programs designed for children from Kindy through Year 12. We encourage the children to participate by singing, dancing and simply enjoying each other’s company. We have customised cultural presentations for students that run for 60 minutes.

For older students we go into the history of Aboriginal people in Cairns and how Cairns was founded. We love teaching young people about Aboriginal beliefs, customs and lifestyle, to do so, we use a combination of fun games, songs and dance. We make learning a hands-on, fun experience.

We talk about native Australian animals and how they tie into Aboriginal culture, we tell stories from Aboriginal history on how animals evolved and we provide tips on how to look after the environment.

Some of the lessons include information about:

  • Native Australian animals and how they tie in to Aboriginal culture
  • Stories of Aboriginal history and how animals evolved
  • Tips on how to look after the environment

Our team loves young people and we encourage them to learn while having a great time. We sing and dance for a while, then jump into an interactive teaching lesson. Then, it’s back to the fun and games, with every child n the room grinning from ear-to-ear. We find that many Indigenous students truly enjoy this experience. It helps them to know where they came from, how their ancestors lived and worked and what it means to be Aboriginal. This serves very well to lift their spirits and gives them an enhanced sense of identity.
